The Hunger Games She will WIN

Yes, she will win! Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. District 12 is the poorest and least populated nation of Panem, place where people starve to death due to food shortages. The Reaping day is a day where every year all the districts have to send one boy and one girl tribute between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games. They will all be imprisoned fighting to the death in a vase outdoor arena. Out of the 24 tribute only one tribute comes out alive and is known as the winner of the Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen is a young lady that is 16 years old that volunteered to take her sister’s place to fight in the Hunger Games, Primrose Everdeen. There are a few reasons why Katniss will win the Hunger Games. One reason Katniss will win the Hunger Games is because she has talented skills. Her father taught Katniss how to become a highly skilled archer. “I receive a bow and sheath of arrows from a hollow log” (page 5). The bows she uses are crafted by her father; he made them before he died in a mine explosion. Katniss is a hunter and she’s good at it, she has caught game and several animals. She does this to provide food for her family because after her father died her mother suffered from a great depression. Katniss took the lead; she took responsibility her father had. Katniss also knows how to gather and fish. Katniss knew how to discern poisonous and dangerous plants from medical and edible plants. Kaniss is a skilled tree-climber. Katniss’s father also taught her how to swim in a pond in the woods. Katniss has learned these skills from her father and Gale, to keep her family from starving. All her knowledge of hunting, archery, and nature will help her to survive the Hunger Games. Second reason why Katniss will win the Hunger Games is because she has a strong personality. Katniss has persevered the struggles and trials in your life. When Katniss was only 11 years old, her father died in an explosion
