As we age, we get better with a lot of things; we become wiser, not too uptight, and even happier. There are a lot of benefits of being “seasoned” the downside is we start seeing or feeling our body age. Getting older means our body is winding down, and it’s a normal part of the aging process.…

Retirement is an excellent time to rest from the day-in and day-out of the workforce. It doesn't imply that the time has come to quit caring for your body! The brilliant years can be an ideal chance to recover the body fit as a fiddle following quite a while of sitting at a work area work.…
My life is an unusual one. My work schedule has me getting up before the sun rises and getting home before lunch time. After I get home, my time is mostly occupied by my two year old daughter. Then, I cook dinner and usually go to bed before the sun sets. Because of the nature of this lifestyle, there is not much time for things like exercise or any other physical activity. Do not get me wrong. I do participate in some mild physical activity associated with chasing my daughter around outside on a nice day or inside when the weather does not cooperate, but I would hardly call that exercise. On top of that, because of my daily routine, I do not have time to really concentrate on what I am…
After a twelve-hour work day, rushing home to the kids and to cook supper, is there ever any time to exercise? The benefits of exercise strongly outweigh the reasons to sit on the couch and eat potato chips. Most of our population is not only obese but out of shape. If a person is five feet four inches and two hundred pounds does not mean they are out of shape. They may not be in their average suggested weight, but if their muscle percentage is more than their fat, then they are above most of the population. Muscle weighs more than fat, so gaining muscle means gaining healthy weight. Exercise is addicting and fun, once you see the results, it is hard to stop. Even though we have such busy lives, finding time to make ourselves healthy is important.…
There are no deficiencies to the contrivances individuals will become tied up with to abstain from aging. A few Canadians appear to have discovered a demonstrated approach to do it viably. In short, they run from it.Few know the effects the cutting edge running and fitness development has had on a maturing child of post war America populace like John Stanton. For starters, the Alberta-conceived Stanton established the Running Room in Edmonton in 1984 and has viewed it develop to more than 100 stores broadly following.…
For some, daily exercise is no big deal. If you were to live on a farm and had to get up at 4 A.M. to start your chores: milk the cows, feed the horses and clean the hog pen you would have plenty of work. Though most people do not live on farms but in small towns or cities, so getting enough daily exercise may be a problem. Or if you are like many people and have a full, packed schedule you just do not have time to join that fitness club down the road. So you could choose to have an “at home” workout which could consist simply of push-ups, crunches, pull-ups and maybe some aerobics in the living room. Now to the others who may be interested in getting into some “serious” shape or others who have a fitness center down the road to join. But before joining you need to look the place over, see what kind of trainers they have on staff or if they have any. Also make sure they have the proper equipment needed to complete your workout. Once you have joined talk to one of trainers at the fitness center. These people are usually are certified and full of information you may need to get yourself on the right track. While you are there you could get in some weight training from free weights to machines, also get in your cardio-vascular training from the treadmill to stair stepper. Remember this is just a small part of your daily activities so do not overdo…
Researchers have examined individuals who age better than others to determine what differences might account for their "success" and some variables at play include a moderately high physical and social activity level, including keeping active with hobbies, social events, and regular exercise.…
I just feel like why exercise if it have not helped me look my best in the pass? I do think I need to at least do the 60 mins a day like the doctor told me, because it is more than just my weight involved when not being active, so I really need to motivate myself to do better, because I know deep down being active daily will help in so many other ways.…
I believe my philosophy of adult education is Progressivism. I think that John Dewey’s theory that that people are social animals who learn well through active interplay with others and that our learning increases when we are engaged in activities that have meaning for us is an important belief for adults and that that book learning is no substitute for actually doing things. The notion that knowledge is acquired and expanded as we apply our previous experiences to solving new, meaningful problems is a key aspect of adult learning.…
More men are changing the way they eat and the amount of exercise in order to be more physically fit. A personal story of mine is that my dad started dieting this last spring and also exercising more. He wanted to slim down for my graduation party. He began watching what he ate, and he began to exercise. He ran four miles three-to-four times a week. My dad wanted to look good for some of his friends that had made the long journey to my graduation. In the three months, he worked out he lost twenty-three pounds. Even though he hit his goal for my graduation party, he still continues to watch what he eats to maintain physically…
Physical activity is an essential part of aging successfully. Being physically active is beneficial at all ages, but certain benefits such as preventing falls and retaining independence are specific to an older individual. Many seniors feel they need to reserve their strength and energy by not exercising, but it is known that this has the opposite effect and older individuals should remain as active as possible (National Institute on Aging, 2015).…
“48 and Overweight.” This may sound like the title to a new reality television show, but the true reality is that this is my current life status. Thanks to eating and drinking too much of the wrong things and leading a mostly sedentary lifestyle, I found myself weighing 215 pounds, which is 50 pounds heavier than my target weight. I currently experience pain in my knees for the first time in my life, and become winded quite easily while doing minimally strenuous activities. I was always an active child, teenager, and adult, and was mostly underweight most of my life. When I turned 40, my weight increased at a rapid pace, and…
Four years ago, I decided it was time to change my life. I no longer wanted to live in fear of what tomorrow might bring. The thought of waking up in the middle of the night, clutching my chest, gasping for air, was terrifying enough to keep me from falling asleep in the first place. Heart disease has a strong history within my family, and at the rate I was headed down obesity lane, I was giving it an open invitation. My mother knew this weighed heavily on my mind, as she had a massive heart attack at the young age of 42, so she took me shopping one Friday in September. She purchased my first active wear outfit, as well as, a pair of white and pink Nike tennis shoes. Little did she know that she was creating an exercise monster. Not only did…
