everyday life. In the Oath I promised “ to serve and stand for those in need”. I fulfill my required service project hours by volunteering at the Monmouth Country Food bank . During my time there I help sort the donations as well as bagging groceries for families who rely on the Food Bank for their daily groceries. Being a part of the Lasllian Youth Club we aim to provide service for others. This is accomplished by taking part in the annual Box City night in Asbury, making peanut and jelly sandwiches for homeless.,and assisting at various community events such as “touch a truck” night . As a whole community CBA provides all students the opportunity to donate to many different drives during the school year. From the Thanksgiving food drive, to the annual coat drive and shoe drive CBA always provides us wonderful opportunities to act as disciples of God by helping the less fortunate. From the time I can remember, my parents have always instilled in my sibling and I the importance of honesty, respect for yourself and other and truthfulness. While at CBA I am expected to demonstrated these same core values whether on the athletic fields or in the classroom. As a student at the Academy utilizing these three simple values on a daily bases ensures that CBA will be free from cheating, lying ,and bullying therefore creating a positive learning experience for all Academy students. Lastly, this oath requires that I always try my best at whatever I am doing. This oath makes us accountable for ourselves by encouraging us to realize when we are struggling and seek out our teachers for extra help. As students of CBA we are expected to come prepared for class each day. This means that homework should be completed as well as any reading that was assigned. We should also be well rested and our bodies fueled so that our minds are ready to tackle what is being taught that day. Success at CBA can only be achieved when you try your best and you are always prepared. Each year as I take the Oath I am making a promise not only to myself, but to my fellow brothers. Always promising to try my best, to help those in need while being honest , and respectful of myself and others is what is expected of me and what I strive to do on a daily basis. The core values outlined in the CBA Oath instill the Lasllian Brothers beliefs into all the students at the Academy.
