I am aware that to be accepted into the biomedical world requires accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail as it is a dynamic and complex science. In the analysis module ofA2 chemistry, I learnt that the results obtained from series of procedures and techniques need to complement each other to be certain about a particular aspect of a research and produce an accurate explanation for it. The GC-MS method is one such procedure. GC separates the components of a compound by analysing different retention times and MS helps to identify the separated components by comparing with a standard database. During my A-levels, I have taken part in many chemical experiments …show more content…
I also have arithmetic skills required for scientific calculations to check accuracy and efficiency of a process or device. I have a consistent record of handing in assignments on time and excellent punctuality. I have also volunteered in the elderly ward in Queen Elizabeth hospital for a month where I got a close insight on how the staffs worked with dedication and compassion and cared for the elderly patients with selflessness which drove my passion to work in medical sector. I have also attended UCAS convention seminar where I interacted with representatives from different universities and got information about what the biomedical science course has to offer me and what kinds of career can the course lead me to. I also attended a summer school for a day in University of Greenwich for A-level Maths where I gained the opportunity to be taught by university
