The Indivisibility Of Blood Analysis
I choose the visual art work, Short Film-The Indivisibility of Blood by Jessie Ann Kohlman. I think a lot of single moms and others in rough neighborhoods can relate to this short film. I would invest in about quarter million dollars for this film. I see a lot of potential in this film because I believe a lot of people would connect to this film on a deeper level.

Hoffer sets the foundation of the remainder of the book in chapter one by first discussing the “War on Drugs” in the United States and goes as far as saying, “the United States has realistically lost this war … Current drug policies are unrealistic and even counterproductive” (Hoffer 2). These conclusions are developed throughout the book, but are the direct result of his personal understandings of Kurt and Danny’s heroin operations, which escalated dramatically during a time in which the police and community as a whole were cracking down on and cleaning up the rampant heroin usage in Larimer and the homeless that populated this area. He details the extremely different backgrounds of Kurt and Danny, but emphasizes how important this is to their eventual success as heroin dealers. Further, the motivations behind the decision to sell heroin and the fundamentals of such an operation are understood by Hoffer as he develops a personal…

When determining BPA, analysts examine the size, shape, distribution, and location of the bloodstain to form opinions about what did or did not happen. Analysts uses those math skills to determine where the blood came from, how were the victim and perpetrator positioned when the crime happened, and what direction was the victim wounded.…

Since the creation of religion, there has always been a debate to whether or not religion is the main cause of conflicts throughout history. In Karen Armstrong’s book “Fields of Blood”, she argues that people use religion as an excuse for the cause of wars and ignore all other aspects. Karen Armstrong is correct. Throughout history, there were many wars and conflicts that weren’t caused by religion yet many leaders used the blame of religion to their advantage to conceal their true intentions. Wars using religion as a cover up for power is shown in the expansion of the Islamic Empire and in ISIS, while motivation from religion opposes Armstrong’s idea.…

There Will Be Blood is a historical drama written and directed by P.T Anderson. The film explores themes of ambition, loneliness, lust for power, false personas, hatred, lack of faith, mistrust and loss of humanity. Anderson explores these themes through the characters of Daniel Plainview and Eli Sunday. In addition to character exploration, Anderson uses a variety of cinematic techniques in order to subtextually portray these themes. These techniques include, contrasting lighting, long shots, wide angles and mis en scene. The first themes to be explored in There Will Be Blood are ambition and loneliness. The film begins with a wide shot of a vast and open terrain. This signifies the emptiness of our setting. We meet the character of Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day Lewis) deep below the ground in a mining shaft. Plainview is working in absolute darkness. This could be symbolic of Plainview’s current economic or social position. However, his loneliness and labor is a product of his ambition and lust for power. This ambition is visually revealed to us when Plainview climbs out of his mine and makes his way into town to sell his silver. All of this is done with a broken leg. This ascension out of the darkness of the shaft is visually symbolic of Plainview’s path to power. Plainview begins drilling for oil and becomes a more powerful figure. God like imagery is now associated with Plainview in order to visually portray this power. For example, pools of light gather behind Daniel’s head as he looks down into an oil rig. This makes him appear to be holy…

For my research paper I decided to write a film analysis on The Gangs of New York. This film was released in 2002 and it follows the life of an Irish man named Amsterdam (Leonardo DeCaprio) during the late 19th century. The film is centered on an area called “five points.” Its name comes from the intersection of 5 streets- Mulberry, Orange, Little Water, Cross and Anthony St. The center was a place where the poor lived because it always had a stench of sewage. The town square catered to violence and disease. In the beginning of the film, there is a war between the “natives” and the “dead rabbits” that were Irish immigrants at the five points. Amsterdams’ father was the leader of the dead rabbits and the two gangs engaged in a deadly battle. The leader of the natives, “bill the butcher” ended up taking the…

Gangs of New York, is a movie rich in plot, significant setting and historical information. It is also full of cultural and economic differences which carry the movie forward. It tells us of a time that tensions exist between the Irish immigrants and the natives, both of which are trying to find their place in the “world” and claim a land for their own. A movie overwhelmed by anger, resentment, pain, chaos and shallow happiness, that is wrapped up in a most unsettling way. It begins with a gang battle between the Dead Rabbits who are the Irish immigrants and the Bowery Boys who are the “blood” natives. They appear civilized in their approach to battle concerning rules but when it comes to actually fighting they are unmerciful. This feud has…

The story For the Blood is the Life, by F. Marion Crawford, consists of two frames. The first frame is the present, and the second story is somebody’s adventure, and the two have a connection. There are two characters in the first frame: the narrator and Hoag. In the second frame there are 5 main characters: Alario, Angelo, Antonio, Cristina, and the Priest. In my opinion, the connection between the two stories is that the narrator is Antonio, because of number of reasons. Forst of all, the narrator does not have a name, that is a hint from the author. Another reason is that the narrator know the story too well, only somebody who has been around during the adventure happening could recall it in such great detail. Alario could not be the narrator because he passed away; Cristina was killed, and she was a woman; Angelo went to South America and never came back. The narrator could only be either Antonio or the priest. The author’s last sentence in the story is : “Antonio is as grey as a badger, and he has never been quite the same man since that night” (312 p 202). The sentence is very suspicious because the narrator says it to the readers, and not to his friend Hoag, therefore…
