Exam will be in two parts. First part will be short essay. You will be given 8 or 9 topics and you're to write on FOUR for five points each. A paragraph or two should do nicely. Second part--a long essay. You will be given 3 or 4 long essay topics and you will write on ONE for 20 points. Four to six paragraphs should do nicely.

The exam will cover material from the beginning of class through October 1. For review, prioritize what we say in class that intersects with the reading. Second priority is what we say in class but the reading either doesn't mention or barely so. Third priority is what the book says but we don't necessarily address.
Make ups, if you're ill, etc., are possible, but they will be harder out of fairness to people who did the exam on time. Exam will begin at 9 AM and end at 10:15 AM. You should bring test booklets (green, blue, yellow) and pens. No test booklet, I won't read your answers. Pencil may not be read if hard to read. Keep cell phones and other electronic devices out of sight.
