Notes
The intolerable acts were laws that were forced on the colonist because of the Boston Tea party.
There were five acts/laws.
Those acts included Administration of Justice Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Boston Port Act, Quartering Act, and Quebec Act.
This act said that any British soldier charged with a crime did not get punished in the colonies they received punishment in England.
This act let the British government control all of Boston’s town meetings. Also Boston could not have self-government.
The Quartering Act was an act that forced colonist to feed, house, and clothe needy British soldiers. If colonist fails to do so they would be arrested; or even worst put to death.
This act extended borders of Canada cutting off colonies such as Connecticut, Massachusetts and Virginia.
The Boston Tea Party raged the Parliament, and it made them want to start the intolerable acts to punish the colonist.
Benjamin Franklin started the Tea party.
The tea party is when a group of noble patriots dumped three of the British’s ships of tea. They disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and dumped 342 crates.
After these acts colonies joined together to protest against the British. They started the First Continental Congress, where they pledged to support Massachusetts from any attacks. After, the first fight of the American Revolution started called The Battle of Lexington.
