“Sincerity is an openness of heart; we find it in very few people; what we usually see is only an artful dissimulation to win the confidence of others” (unknown). One of the virtues Benjamin Franklin discusses in his autobiography is sincerity. “Use no hurtful deceit. Think innocently and justly, and if you speak, speak accordingly” (Franklin 80). Lets take a path through the journey of sincerity. Sincerity id being honest and telling the truth. Freedom from deceit, hypocrisy, or duplicity; probity in intention or in communicating; earnestness are other ways you can define sincerity. It holds this world together in communication and many more things in this world. We see sincerity in are friendship for “A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide, and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and its sincerity” (Hall). In this society we want honesty in a relationship with friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, husbands, and family. “There is no love without struggle, and no struggle without sacrifice and sincerity… and without sacrifice and sincerity, it is impossible to love” (Hartiyati). In this society we still need to work on being sincere because when we are alone its easy but when we are with another person it gets a little harder for “Every man alone is sincere. I would really love to see sincerity work in my life more because I believe being sincere will set me free and make me happier.
