The Last Airbender 2
First of all, M Night Shyamalan Pretty much screwed The Last Airbender up.. I mean every one knows this, you dont need me to tell you that. The first installment of the movie although made a very good box office that is, it grossed over $300 million worldwide, received universally hostile reviews from film critics especially fans of the cartoon series.. Even viewers of the film who were unfamiliar with the series found the movie amusing.. Based on 176 reviews collected by Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a 6% "Rotten" approval rating from critics..

Based on the above, it will be very difficult for the studios to continue with the movie as planned. That is, there been a delay of the second part of the movie..
The studio is now considering selling the rights of the movie to another studio OR making m night do his thing.. Which has not really worked for the first Installment..
The studio has decided to let M.Night do his thing with The Last Airbender Movie, But first he has to prove himself right for the job...
M.Night, In order to prove Himself right for the job is directing an upcoming Sci Fiction apocalyptic thriller movie called After Earth.. Which is set to be released in 6th June 2013...Only if this movie gains Positive critics reception and makes a good box office will the Last Airbender 2 will gains its green light to start productions

The bad Critics reception of Transformer 2, didn't stop the studious from making making Transformer 3 which grossed over $1 billion worldwide and positive Critics reception.....

With the purchase of sequel rights, what Arundel is achieving is to have a call option on the revenue that each movie brings. This helps to remove the uncertainty and risks associated with producing a movie, especially with regard to moviegoers’ taste. With the sequel right, Arundel will only exercise this option to produce a sequel if the first movie proved to be popular and the sequel is hence predicted to bring in profits. This provides downside protection, as huge losses (due to high production costs) associated with a failed movie will be avoided.…

One of the unique features of the new idea was that Arundel would purchase sequel rights before the first films were even made and released. Another feature was that the investor group would not make artistic judgements or attempt to select the rights for particular movies based on predictions of a possible sequel’s success. Lastly, Arundel’s advance cash payments for the rights, at an agreed-upon price per film, would help finance production of the initial films.…

The movie had a lot of good things but the end did not seem to work. I think the problem was in Tea Leoni’s character. The performance was good but the problem was in the writing or maybe the editing of the film. It needed a few short scenes centered on her character. The way he has it setup, it seems to be almost a caricature; not a real person. All her scenes have her in a frenzy with very…

But it’s not really about that with Pixar movies anymore. They are trying to get the animated medium to be taken seriously, and it seems like it’s becoming a regular occurrence with each new Pixar release that people start saying it should be eligible to compete with live action films for Best Picture at the Oscars. In that regard, I don’t think WALL-E qualifies. If anything, Ratatouille was more deserving. But this movie is just not deep enough. It’s cute and entertaining, and tries some things that haven’t really been done before with a children’s animated movie, but let’s not kid ourselves here… a complex human drama, it ain’t.…
