In the 18th centruy, a war takes place in Colonial America known as the French and Indian war. British and French troops fight against eachother for control of the American colonies. The Mohicans assist the British while the Hurons assist the French. Chingachgook, his son Uncas, and Nathanial or Hawkeye, his adopted white son, are the members of the Mohican tribe. They were told by the British to travel to New York, where they would join Fort William Henry. Meanwhile, Cora and Alice Munro, Colonel Edmund Munro's daughters, were told by their father to meet him at Fort William Henry who were guided by Major Duncan Heyword and Magua. During their journey to the fort, they were attacked by the Hurons who was led by Magua. The Mohicans rescued Cora, Alice and Major Duncan Heyword. They traveled to Fort William Henry together. Once they have reached the fort they realize it is being attacked but manage to sneak past the French and get inside. Nathaniel requests to defend his homes once he witnessed that Camerons had been attacked but Munro refuses. Munro won't allow them to be free so Nathaniel dissobeys his orders and helps Jack and his companions flee. Nathaniels actions led him to be arrested and sentenced to hang. Furthermore, while the British fort is on the verge of collapsing, Munro accepts the surrender terms that the French commander, General Montcalm, offered him. Montcalm lied when he offered Munro a safe passage to New York because the British were attacked by Hurons, once again led by Magua. Magua plans to kill Munros daughters but first he must capture Hawkeye, Cora, Alice, Uncas, Chingachgook, Heyward and two other soldiers who have escaped to a cave behind a waterfall. Magua eventually found Heyword, Alice, and Cora but lucky Nathaniel and his two companions are not found. They followed Magua's tribe. When Magua was in the middle of bargaining with the sachem, they were interrupted by Nathaniel running a fight of warriors. When Nathaniel

History has cast aside the events of 1763 and focused on the bookends, the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. Ignored is a pivotal moment during the tumultuous year of 1763; the Fort Pitt Campaign where a British relief column, sent to relieve the besieged Fort Pitt, was attacked by a coalition of Indians. The event has been mostly ignored or forgotten by historians thus only few scholars have relegated attention to the campaign. In his article about the 42nd Regiment of Foot’s involvement in the battle, Ian Davidson notes that the battle is given little notice in the official battle honors of the regiment. Davidson, himself, is truly concerned about the 42nd’s involvement in the Battle of Bushy Run. David Dixon’s book, Never Come to Peace Again, provides a chapter retelling the event while Richard Middleton dedicates a few pages to the event in his book, Pontiac’s War.…

The French soon regrouped their troops, and set out on the journey back to their village. It is now nine in the morning, The air is unsettling in Deerfield, almost numb. White snow is now bright red form the blood that was shed only hours before. The few that survived started filter back in through the south gate, ready to look after their wounded and count the dead. There were deaths by gunshot, by hatchet, by knife, by war club, even burnt and smothered in secret cellars. The woman is under attack by the Sepoys and one of her slaves helps them run away. "Golab Khan, seeing our perilous situation amidst the increasing flames, and that every moment was precious, with his characteristic presence of mind and quickness, had suddenly thought of a plan by which to draw away the mob, who, after having satisfied themselves with all the plunder they could get, were every moment becoming more eager in their search for us. He boldly went up to them, won their confidence by declaring himself of their faith, and willing to give us up into their hands. He assured them it was useless to continue their search in the house; but if they would all follow him, he would lead them to a haystack, where we had been concealed." The family is safe in hiding but team up with other families to defeat the Sepoys. " Active preparations at the same time went on in organising a field force. At length all was in readiness, and the order for the march was hailed with delight; sanguine were our hopes that a fortnight, or at the most three weeks, would see our gallant little army on its victorious return. With many and oft-repeated good wishes and prayers, we saw them depart. On the night of the 27th May they marched…
