The painting was created by the one of the most popular artist Leonardo Da Vinci. It was painted in 1494. Vinci painted the work directly on the dining hall wall of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. People think that it was produced through a technique called Fressco Secco( pigments are mixed with lime water or lime milk and are applied to a dry plaster), but infect in order to be perfect in every detail, da Vinci invented a new technique using tempera paints on stone. First of all, he primed the wall, that he hoped would accept the tempera and protect the paint against moisture.

We know about the story because The Last Supper is recorded in the Synoptic Gospels. After the meal, Jesus is betrayed, arrested, tried, and then crucified.

The Last Supper is popular because it became controversial as well as it captured such a great moment; the moment when Jesus was having last supper with his Apostles before he was crucified. I am aiming to imitate how the Apostles looked like while they are discussing something that pertains to Jesus Christ.

I will try to stick closely to the original because the way the painting was painted is a masterpiece created by a one of most fabulous artist and I want to keep the same message of the masterpiece to the audience.

The picture I chose was hard to recreate, because there are 13 characters in the image. I had to gathered my friends in food court in Seneca college (Newnham Campus). The day was busy the in the hall. I took number of pictures with different poses, and chose the best to show the message resembles to the image created by Vinci. The picture that I posted is the best picture of all that I had captured, because the poses and the characters that I gave to each person resembles the people in the portrait made by
Vinci.

Through looking deeply at the piece of artwork, I realized first time that art is a powerful thing that can make a piece of art alive. I learnt that recreating a portrait is a long and hard process.
