“Motives are sometimes defined as needs, wants, drives, or impulses within the individual and are directed toward goals that may be conscious or subconscious.” (Hersey, et.al 2008) A working definition of motivation can be “giving a reason to act: the act of giving somebody a reason or incentive to do something” (www.bing.com) It is important to have a working definition of motives or motivation before creating a plan for it. Motivation or the motives of someone will always depend on the individual, their perceptions, their needs and their beliefs. When a person’s perception is skewed, their needs high and their belief of what can be done that is when trying to motivate them in another direction is difficult. A leader is able to meet someone where they are, understand their perceptions, needs and beliefs and guide them into a new understanding in order to meet their needs and ultimately change their beliefs; in order to motivate them. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (1943) states that everyone has several levels needs beginning with a person’s physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, and self-actualization needs. The Indian Independence Act of 1947 marked a watershed upon the history of India and imperialism, predicating the protracted, but evident, retreat of empire. A body of influences are readily available in providing a depth of understanding of the event; it is, however, the permeating legacy of the Indian national congress that has been routinely identified as a political organisation synonymous with the departure of empire and colonialism. The remit of this essay focuses our attention upon the development and narrative of the Indian National Congress, and the use of its political structure in exercising and mobilising nationalist sentiments…

Let’s pause here for a moment and ponder over the fact that for once, a majority does not figure in the making of a sensibility, that is India. It is imminent that we then question what is national identity. Is it what we are, what we accept we are or the face we show the world? For the moment let us consider the utopian “what we are”. What binds us and makes us people of one nation despite myriad similarities and dissimilarities.…

Our world is ever growing. Our increasing need for energy, especially fuels, is rapidly accelerating to the point where we may run out of the resource that gives us 80% of our fuels, Fossil Fuels. 99% of today’s cars run using either diesel or petrol, (both are fossil fuels). At the rate these fuels are getting used, by 2020 the international oil suppliers will not be able to keep up with this high demand. There have been many different fuel alternatives to replace diesel and petrol, but none more seem more suitable than hydrogen. The possibility of hydrogen as a fuel is ever increasing, with the advantages outweighing the disadvantages more every year. Car manufactures are already making cars that are hydrogen powered, although they are either prototypes or extremely limited production runs, but cars such as the Honda Clarity prove that hydrogen powered cars really are not a thing of the future, but a thing of the present.…
