A-ming explains that those instruments are named chopsticks, and it’s the common way to eat in Asia. He’s also a bit surprise to learn that in Canada, almost nobody eats with chopsticks. The Lunas, on the other hand, are very steady people. One can recount many instances where the truth is stretched for film, theater, or television to make a better story, but it appears that the smash Broadway hit Jersey Boys is pretty accurate. Bob Gaudio, one of the original members of The Four Seasons, was instrumental in the creation of Jersey Boys, which won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical and is seemingly entrenched at the August Wilson Theatre for a long run in addition to numerous touring productions.…

Though she offers apologies and justifications for womankind’s unfaithful behavior (38)—and even extends a halfhearted olive branch to the Man in the Moon (38)—Guiney strongly implies that women are capable of, and willing to, rise with the moon to overthrow both the Man in the Moon and the masculinized civilization of whom he is representative. For, when the moon is in her full power, “The primeval heathen has stirred within us. We have been under the witchery of Isis. We aspire to be a Moonshee, rather than any potentate of this universe” (37). In reaching back to their ancient ways, women can overthrow the modern Man in the Moon and restore the feminine moon to her past wildness and power.…
The Chinese Cinderella story was about a girl named Yehhsien and like the original Cinderella story her mother and her father both died and she was left to her step- mother and step- sisters. Yehhsien’s only friend was a fish her step mom killed. A stranger tells Yehhsien to keep the bones of the fish and when she prayed to the bones she would get what she wanted. One day when the step- mom and her daughters were going to the spring festival they did not allow Yehhsien to come. So she asked the fish bones to give her beautiful golden shoes and a beautiful dress to wear. When she went to the festival one of the step sisters recognized her and Yehhsien knew. She took off leaving one of her golden shoes behind. One of the people in the cave picked it up and sold the shoe that later got to the ruler of another kingdom. He searched everywhere for the owner until he found Yehhsien. He took her and her bones back to his kingdom. He married her and prayed to the bones getting treasures without a limit. The next year the bones no longer worked so he buried the close to the shore. They were washed away and the step- mom and the step- sisters were killed by flying stones.…

It is said that the military strategist Zhuge Liang created these steamed buns as an offering to the gods. They were designed to look like human heads. Gruesome, yes, but this was almost 1,800 years ago. Now, the siopao is enjoyed as a snack usually served with tea.…
Chinese dumplings are important to my family because we make and eat them almost every holiday. We will often also make them on a regular day, just because we can. Traditional holidays, such as Chinese New Year, are a significant time where we have dumplings for dinner. We will either invite family friends over, or go to their houses. We have an unspoken custom in which we bring food for each other to share at dinner time.…
