Congress checks over the President, but also over the Federal judges and Supreme Court Justices because they (Congress) decides whether or not the appointees are worthy of their position. The biggest check that Congress has over the Executive Branch is the power to impeach any Executive official, including the President. This gives the Legislative Branch a lot of power because they can basically “fire” any executive leaders of our country if they believe the leader should no longer be in power!
