Like every other hero, the children, the main characters are all summoned into the unknown and they are all expected to complete and for fill a quest. Lucy, the founder of Narnia, was first called
into the adventure when she came upon Tummnus who begged her to come and drink some tea. As soon as she followed. The adventure began. Susan, Edmund, and Peter are all called into the adventure by Lucy, who begs them to see the Wardrobe. Of course, they refuse to accept the call and they all think Lucy is pretending. Later, the children step into Narnia and come upon Aslan, the great king of Narnia, who gives them their quest.
Every one of the children are faced with challenges and they all persevere through hard times. Peter is burdened by the shame and guilt of the way he treated his brother. Susan and Lucy suffer through Aslan’s death and Edmund is left dealing with the wicked witch. Just like every other adventure, there is usually help involved. In order to complete the quest and the journey that lies before them, they must overcome these challenges and persevere through their hard times. They must gain composer and build up courage. Finally, the children are at the peak of their journey. All heroes are faced with one last challenge and this challenge is usually the toughest of them all. They must use all their skills and they must use wisdom. Peter and Edmund fight a battle against the wicked witch while Susan and Lucy ride with Aslan to the witches’ castle. All the children must be brave and they must show courage. They bring out all the energy left within them and they show the enemy who’s boss. The children finish strong and the wicked witch is finally defeated. Yet, there journey is not finished. For they did not know that once a king and queen in Narnia, always a king and queen of Narnia. Like every other hero, the children are rewarded and they are given a kingdom. A hero’s journey is far from easy, but is one of the most exciting adventures. All heroes learn lots of wisdom and come from their journey with maturity and self-control. All heroes have many traits in common.
