The Lost Sorrow Movie Analysis
You have four Native American children; two boys and two girls who parents Evelyn and Ben seemed to be living decent lives but their father Ben started to turn to alcohol. He became addicted and suffered from alcoholism causing a lot of conflict between the family such as physically abusing their mother. These poor children are so confused and have no type of direction because they are told so many different stories of how they lived in cars, being very poor etc. Shortly after, the four children Bobby, Tyler, Lana, and Janelle were all are placed in an adoption home. Chris, Diann and Stuart Billing son wanted questions and answers to why his two brothers took their own lives? Chris goes on a journey to find his answers but along the way, terrible things start to unravel revealing family secrets, alcoholism, marital infidelity, forgiveness, and closure. My initial reaction to the film is why are kids always caught in a dilemma. I asked myself why would two children want to take their own lives? From further watching the film I understood the reasons for Why Bobby and Tyler didn't want to continue to physically be here. I was fascinated once I found out what the title The Lost Sparrow meant children who were adopted out never were heard from again So that’s why Chris named this documentary The Lost Sparrow. I felt that film probably reach out to lots of children who are in the same situation as them. Certain issues could have been handled better but didn't turn out that way at all. I was shocked that their older son Chris didn't know anything that was going on with his parents and found out the by his sister Lana. An issue I couldn't believe was the father sexually abusing his adopted daughter. But what bother me the most was the mother witnessed him in the act by looking through the keyhole. How could Diann
