Mark Twain’s examples of the human race in “The Lowest Animal” he states that humans are lowest on the food chain and we are the worst kind of being on earth. He believes that we have the ability to destroy all life on earth and that we wipe out things for fun. One example of this is a human killed 72 buffalo just for fun
and the fur, while an animal killed to survive. This is just one of his reasons.
Stephen Gould’s examples of the human race in “A Time of Gifts” he states that humans are the highest of the food chain, but their with kindness except for the bad people. He believes that we have the ability to destroy the life on earth but we wont because most people are good and only a select few are bad. One example is the Twin Towers attack on 9/11, only a few people were involved in the attack and three times that many came to help out the people from the towers and surrounding areas. One of his sayings is one act of evil will be covered up by ten thousand acts of kindness. Those are just a few reasons of Gould's idea of humans.
If I were to side with one decision it would be Gould's view of man, his statement of ten thousand acts of kindness stands out and not all humans are bad.Twain's idea is discriminating all humans for the acts of a few. This is how I stand, who would you side with?
