When you look up into the dark, night sky, you will see the moon and the 8 different phases it goes through. They can be very beautiful or even interesting. Lunar phases happen because the sun’s light reflects off the moon to us earth observers. So depending on where the moon is on its orbital path around the earth, gives us our lunar phases. Due to the Moon’s revolution around the earth, we see that light as different shapes called phases.
