The planning process begins with a situation analysis of the external and internal forces affecting the organization. This examination helps identify and diagnose issues and problems and may bring to the surface alternative goals and plans for the firm. Next, the advantages and disadvantages of these goals and plans should be evaluated against one another. Once a set of goals and a plan have been selected, implementation involves communicating the plan to employees, allocating resources, and making certain that other systems such as rewards and budgets are supporting the plan. Finally, planning requires instituting control systems to monitor progress toward the goals.…

Alix Kates Shulman is an author whose work includes fiction, memoirs, and essays written predominately from her perspective as a feminist. Shulman hails from Cleveland, Ohio and is best known for the novel “Memoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen”. She is also listed in Who’s Who in America and in Feminists Who Changed America, 1963-1975 (Shulman, Psychology Today: Alix Kates Shulman). In 1970, Shulman’s document, “A Marriage Agreement”, was published in a feminist journal but became so popular and controversial that it was later reprinted in several other publications including Harvard University’s contract law textbook (Behrens). Shulman’s idea of introducing a concrete treaty into matrimony, above and beyond marriage vows, was completely unheard of at the time. She felt the only way her and her husband could live a more balanced family life was by following a strict contract that divvied every household responsibility equally between the two of them. Men and women typically assumed the gender roles society afforded them even when they themselves didn’t agree with the typecast standards. As Shulman and her spouse experienced, fulfilling these automatic roles can lead to a dissatisfying marriage (Shulman, A Marriage Agreement 304). Although I was too young to have been aware of the wave of feminism erupting through American history, I agree that men and women were created equal and should share the same human rights as well as household responsibilities. Although Shulman was very creative in balancing her marriage and ultimately achieving her rank amongst men in the working class, I disagree with her method. Learning the true meaning of love and marriage dissipates the need for feminism, especially in today’s society.…
Marriage is a broad concept to understand. The concept of marriage can mean different things to different people. Although many people go into a marriage with hopes high, things can still go awry. Even though marriage is a supposed bond for eternity, people can go into a marriage unprepared for what comes with the eternal bond. When one goes into a marriage unready, regret can fill the relationship fast and cause a drastic turn of events. A Secret Sorrow and A Sorrowful Woman are two totally different stories; The former encourages marriage while the latter makes the reader question marriage.…

The institution of marriage crosses realms from religion to the justice system, as the vow itself brings with it 38 laws between the two adhering individuals. (EGALE 2001). This, along with its social interpretation as the unity needed for a successful family upbringing, marriage can quite easily be considered the center of society and a right that all humans should one day hope to attain.…
Marriage is a significant part of Judaism bringing together a woman and man under God’s reign. It is the mitzvah (122) “To marry a wife by means of ketubah and keddushin” (Deut 22:13), all Jewish adherents see marriage as a necessity in order to obey God and to experience the fullness of life. In Genesis God says: “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” It is a link between individuals and the wider community as it recognises two individuals coming together, celebrated by the wider community. Also the marriage ceremony itself contains symbolic significance to Judaism, conveying Jewish beliefs through symbols, actions and words.…

Love and marriage are hot topics in all ages, let alone in modern society, for they concern every individual. In recent years, the relationship between them is becoming increasingly complicated. Marriage or love means differently to different people. Some believe that love and marriage are a whole part while others hold the opposite notion. Personally specking, I think that love and marriage are separate and they do not relate to each other so tightly as others think, allowing for the fact that love is not the guarantee of marriage, nor an indispensable part of marriage and marriage is not necessarily the reflection of love.…
There were many things I learned in this class from week one to week seven. In week one, I learned the concept of a social contract between the government and the people. It deals with the agreement made by both parties to regulate society. Under this contract, members of society agree to give up certain natural rights in exchange for security, comforts and order. The government is entrusted with creating an effective system for regulating conduct that are in the best interest of the people and creating forums to resolve conflicts between citizens (Gaines et al, 2014). The people have the power to select government officials and keep certain individual’s rights that protects them against government invasion. Due to this social contract, in America, powers are shared between the central government, state and local level called Federalism. It is based off…
Marriage is generally defined as an official and sacred union between a man and a woman. Although, as times have changed, presently a marriage can also involve members of the same-sex. A matrimony is a religious and legal commitment that two people formulate in accordance with the law to join their life legitimately, financially and passionately. It is contemplated as one of the earliest and traditional foundations in the world. Depending what country, you are from and what your cultures are, there are various differences and similarities found in this institution.
