The Maze Runner By James Dashner

The book I read was The Maze Runner by James Dashner. The reason I chose this book was because my friends told me to read it about a year ago and from what I heard it sounded good. The Maze Runner is a book about a boy named Thomas who gets sent to this place called the glade; the glade is a place where these teenagers that call themselves the gladers have made a little village and the glade is in the middle of this giant maze and the teenagers are trying to find their way out of this place. These teenagers have different roles in the village and the people that go out into the maze everyday are called the runners; their job as runners is to study the maze and figure out how to get out, Thomas really wants to be a runner. Now you may think that it would be easy to get out; but there is a twist, the maze shifts and changes every night. Do they get out? You will have to read the book and find out.
Thomas becomes friends with a genre of people throughout this book. One of the main friendships is with a kid named Chuck; Chuck is the first person that Thomas actually can consider a friend. When Thomas was asking questions and Chuck couldn’t answer them this is what Chuck says, “‘I’m basically still a newbie, too. But I can be your friend—‘“ (16). Throughout the book having friends is important because you have someone that will have your back and have someone you can trust. Another important reason is because if you were all alone there would be nothing from keeping you from going crazy, you need to have friends that you can have fun with and can trust.
