When Roosevelt was in power, he used the power of the institution positively, as he didn’t allow the large companies to take over America, and used his power to stop the large companies. Roosevelt was given a second term in office because of the way he used his institutional power to help the majority in the United States. As before he was in office large conglomerates, were affecting the United States in a negative way. Rockefeller and JP Morgan were using the institutional power in their favor, however Roosevelt changed and used the law to help the majority instead of the few minorities. Roosevelt used the power of the law to sue JP Morgan and Rockefeller. The presidents before him did not use law as a tool, and therefore the economy was in a bad state before Roosevelt.
Henry Ford’s incentive to success and power, are what led him to stop Allen from having control over the industrial policy of the automobile industry in America. As Ford and other start up automobile companies, had no chance as Allen was using the law and institution in his favor because of his power and success. However it took a young man, Henry Ford, with an incentive for success and power to stand in his way in order for him to succeed. Ford’s dedication and drive would not allow Allen to stand in his way. The reason behind Ford’s success and power, was the way he used the institution positively in his favor. Ford’s incentive lead not only his path to success, he also helped other small start up companies have a chance against the large conglomerate Allen, this lead to Ford’s popularity with the American people.
Ford used the free market is his favor; he used the free market to change the way the automobile industry was working. As Allen was the main power, he used the advantage of the free market in the United States as a tool to help in his success.
