The Messiah: Discrimination In The United States
UNITY

The Messiah has made things up between us so that we’re now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance. He repealed the law code that… hindered more than it helped. Then he started over. Instead of continuing with two groups of people separated by centuries of animosity and suspicion, he created a new kind of human being, a fresh start for everybody. Ephesians 2:14-15

There were periods in the United States where there was a major separation of races. The periods are known as slavery and the Civil Rights era. There were many lives lost as well as tough battles fought for equality for all. Yet, there are times when it appears the battle still exist today.

The senseless killings of black males have opened the wounds that many had placed out of sight and mind to survive. Throughout the last presidential

The first agenda item was to erect a wall to keep the Mexicans out. Next, a travel ban was imposed against the Muslims. The administration nominees are not qualified to run each department. It appears each day brings news that continues to unnerve us.

With all the negativity and the mass attempt to uproot the established unity and progression, the good news is that Jesus tore down the wall of separation. He brought us together through his death on the cross. Instead of the insiders and the outsiders, Jesus made us one and reconciled us with God through peace. Therefore, remember that we are all one through Jesus Christ.

Jesus tore down the wall so that all can come in.

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord. And we pray that all unity may one day be restored. And we’ll guard each one’s dignity and save each one’s pride. And together we’ll spread the News that God is in our land. And they will know we are Christians by our

The major theme of the article is that people should love others as they love themselves. Maslin discusses the crucial elements for dialogue. The three elements he talks about include honesty, love and understanding. “We need each other, not so that we might blend into a Jewish—Christian mishmash, but for dialogue that can simulate, enrich and deepen our respective faiths” (Maslin, Simeon). The author discusses how we all can work together to create a better place. Also how Jews and Christians need each other in order to keep their religions going strong in the 21st century. Mainly what Maslin is saying is that if we all work together and support each other and treat each other with respect the world we live in would be a better place.…

Good morning, my fellow Americans. I am not here today to tell you what you want to hear, for I am only here today to notify you with what you need to hear. What is it going to take… what is it going to take to accomplish unity? You see we say we live in the “united states”, but are we really united? America is a great nation that once strived and welcomed people from all over the globe. America was a magnet. This country has reached a point where we are undergoing a grave situation that may end up deadly. I am American, you are American, we are American, one nation, united under God. Now first and foremost, in order to achieve unity we must work together, by taking our differences and working together to accomplish something bigger than you,…

There is just about as much emphasis on the importance of unity as there is on the condemnation of division among Christians. It is very important to be unified; however, there is a slight difference in just not being unified and having a division. To not be unified signifies a stand-still; nothing is really happening. There could be a church that gets along and encourages one another, but if they are not unified in a common goal of glorifying God and doing all they can then there is a lack of unity. However, when a church has a lack of unity because there is a division among beliefs, or something of the like, that is where a major problem lies. I was part of a church where this disunity caused division and it was a terrible thing. The division was caused over something as small as the music. There were a couple other things that caused disagreement, but the major problem formed because of disagreements with music choices. There were some people in the church who wanted to bring in more instruments such as multiple guitars both acoustic and electric, electric drums,…

Cornel West easily illustrates the idea of discrimination in America through the explanations of white supremacy. For Example, “This vicious ideology and practice of white supremacy has left its indelible mark on all spheres of American life- from the prevailing crimes of Amerindian reservations to the discriminatory realties against Spanish-speaking Latinos to racial stereotypes against Asians.” White supremacy has held racial progress back from not only African Americans, but from all people of color. All people of color are feeling the inequalities that white supremacy compel onto other races. In addition, “No other people have been taught systematically to hate themselves.” White supremacy has taught the African American race to hate who…

The segregation of colored people is a part of American history During this time inequality was an issue for colored people.” Despite the Civil Rights gains of 1960s, racial discrimination and repression remain a factor in American life to this day.” (Stonaker, Shepard “Segregation”). The segregation depicts how colored people were separated from white people because of their differences. The Civil Rights movement consisted of peaceful and violent acts of protest, boycotts, and the implementation of Jim Crow Laws.…

In the passage Thomas Paine states that American government is fair-minded. However, there are an overwhelmingly large amount of examples that prove that corruption does indeed exist in America’s political system. One relatively recent example of corruption was the bribery involved Rand Paul’s presidential campaign in 2012. In this event Jesse Benton, Paul’s political director campaign manager admitted to paying senators in exchange for their endorsement towards their campaign (Ballhaus). This example of corruption disproves Paine’s claim that the government in the United Stated is unbiased and fair. In his book, Paine also claimed that, “There the poor are not oppressed, the rich are not privileged…. Their taxes are few, because their government…

Today as Americans we have an extremely hard time maintaining unity. Churches are constantly spitting up and husbands and wives are getting divorces as if there is not anything wrong with it. We as Christians should be an example of unity to unbelievers. We shouldn’t let small decisions in our church, such as carpet color, or the times for services affect our unity. Just as Christian husbands and wives should follow the teachings in God’s Word on how marriage should be. We should only divorce under the few circumstances it gives, not just because we are tired of each other. Just as there is only one body and one God, we are to be one in our church and family. God has called us as believers to be in unity with one another and he teaches us in his Word how to maintain unity as a church and as a family.…

The idea of a racial divide hasn’t always been around in the United States. Race has evolved over time based on physical traits, genetics, and social relationship. The concept of people being different colors has adapted over time. Race first became noticed when Thomas Jefferson wrote “Noted on the States of Virginia” for France. This book was about the geographical elements of Virginia and the inhabitants of the new land. He states that there is something different about the African Americans mentally and physically. Jackson claimed that the idea of inalienable rights is only for a certain amount of people. Those who have something different about them are not quite men and cannot have rights like the whites do. For many years in the US most…

Mississippi is the poorest state in the US, with 24.1 % or 695,915 of its citizens living below the poverty line. It also ranks last in its rate of child poverty (33.7%), and subsequently last in hunger and food insecurity. The South needs to examine its history, if they want to continue to be prosperous. For a hundred years after the Civil War, the south was a third world country. American business was loathe to make investments in the old Confederacy because of lynching's, segregation, and the anti-evolution laws prevalent in the South. It was only after the Civil Rights movement of the sixties that business was ready to invest in the South. If this southern religious crusade against gay people…
