Throughout the development of this research i found my first question being; is the feeling of social rejection just a mental battle? (Krauss 1)According to Susan Krauss Whitbourne, the author of “The Neuroscience of rejection” a blog a website called Psychology Today, claims that rejection is just a state of mind and the process to escape this mental imprisonment includes activities such as; removing the ‘friends’ from social media, or meeting knew people. Was best proven through the article ‘From depression to imaginative thinking’ by Eddie Warnn. Warnn claims that for many people, social rejection could be considered “ a form of validation”. He follows that claim with saying “...By knowing this distinction is a positive one, will lead to a greater productivity...” While i do believe that this claim is true, who's to tell that everyone will allow themselves to think constructively about the situation. For instance, (Kafta 1.11) in the beginning gregor was very positive towards his newly faced challenges ‘Gregor was still here and hadn't the slightest intention of letting the family down.’ This quote hints on how his attitude encourages constructive positivity and motivation. Was answer by an blog from psychologytoday.com. Joe Navarro, the author of “are you being manipulated to escape pain” addresses how us people being to almost allow our friends the take us for granted subconsciously as long as they continue to be apart of our lives. Following up i figured that again, no one wants to be considered a loner or odd ball, so when we just go along with things that we may not always agree with just to stay relevant. In The Metamorphosis Gregor doesn't even notice how he was taken advantage of until before he died. For example, “Gregor he felt very proud that he had been able to provide such life in so nice an apartment for his parents and his sister. But what now if all the peace, the comfort, the contentment were to come to a horrible end?” This short statement proves how gregor's contemplates not being the major breadwinner for the family anymore because of his newly found disabilities and how the nice life that he has formed will soon be gone if he doesn't transform soon. Also (gregor ch 3) he states how he doesn't want to have to bother his sister for help now because he doesn't want to aberdeen. This also hints that gregor holds his guilt in to ensure the ensure of his peers. Closing with although we all use this method as a scapegoat, it is only encouraging our insecurities
