The moonstone is called gem of the Goddess Diana. The ancient Roman believed that the moonstones is a trickle of moonlight. In Asia the moonstones is considered the jewel of luck. The Arab culture the moonstones are a symbol of fertility many Arab women sew them in there clothing so they can not be seen. It is said that it is an amulet for protection of the traveler's. Goddess of the moonstones honors is Cerridewen, the welsh goddess of inspiration and knowledge she rules the gifts of prophecy and magic and powers death and rebirth she is the guardian of spiritual transformation. moonstone honors Hanwi the Sioux moon goddess her name means “night sun” she guards her people during the night protecting them from harm and evil spirits. Fortune tellers used it to aid in telling the future. Moonstones honors Nyx the Greek goddess of the night. It also honors Selene the Greek moon goddess she travels the sky to protect those in the dark. Also goddess Achelois,phoebe,Artemis. The Asian myth declares the best blue moonstones are washed up by the tides once every 21 years. In ancient lore moonstones was considered to be talisman gem of winter. According to the Hindu legend moonstones was formed from moon beams. Moonstones have many colors ranging from green,brown,and orange, a smokey colour and a champagne, some are black and reddish ones mainly originating from India,there has been rainbow ones seen as well . Rare to fine blue ones have also been seen the traditional moonstone almost transparent with there bluish shimmer silvery white or gray. Every color has it's own meaning.
