Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free” (Romans 8:1-2, NIV). The Bible is the only book that can convict a person of their sin and show them how much God loves them and puts their sin under the blood of Christ.
I agree with the statement, “The Bible has a transforming power to change lives of individuals”. I believe that this is a fact. The Bible is the only book I am aware of that is a road map to help guide people through this journey called life; scripture says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105, NIV). People that study the Bible are having their lives transformed on a daily basis. The Bible is the living, breathing word of God and it helps convict people of the sin in their lives so they are able to confess it, turn from it and begin renewed the next day.
As a Police Officer, I encounter many different people. Some of those individuals are alcoholics or drug addicts. On one occasion, dispatch sent me to a call involving an individual that I ended up arresting. This individual was addicted to cocaine. Two or three years later, this same suspect stopped me and thanked me for arresting him. He went on to tell me that while he was in jail he began to read the Bible and that he accepted Christ as his Savior. As he told me his story, I could see that he was a changed man. He went on to tell me that he has not touched any drug since that time. This is only one example of how the Word of God convicted, convinced, and converted. The Bible is truly an amazing book to touch so many people.
