The pardoner seems to be admitting that he knows his life is wrong, but he just can’t help being addicted to life luxuries , which requires tons of cash , he describes sin everywhere , you can’t avoid it ; all you can do is get pardon for it , preferably from him .

The pardoner’s ability to make much money from his shows that he was a real genius in being able to read an audience and target his language accordingly .
