The Poem Of Raymond Carver

This poem of Raymond Carver, have four stanzas with no rhyme and lines of different length. The poet does not have a particular style; he uses a lot of metaphor, imagery and the pronoun “I” to show how alcohol affect his life and the initiative that he took to turn his life around. The pronoun “I” shows that the poet is the one that is speaking and that what he says really happen. It also describes how the author is thinking or acting and also picture him moving around the room. “locking yourself out, then trying to get back in” is metaphor about his situation in life.
