As of Eisenhower, in his speech, he was mainly focusing on military aid and he wanted to authorize and cooperate with others. President Truman was a president after the cold war and he wanted to stop the spread of communism as well as all the other presidents. So President Eisenhower was really into Military Aid he especially wanted to be respectful to others, he wanted to authorize and cooperate with other countries so they can all work together and stop communism. How this relates to containment is he wanted to stop the enemy from growing and he wanted to work with others to complete that. He made up a lot of theories and started new ideas one was the Domino Theory, it was that if Vietnam became a communist country, South Asia would become communist to and stick together.(Ayers 950) Eisenhower again is using military use and a quote is “a soft answer turns away wrath”. He really wanted to stick together to most countries because he was all against communism. As a president, he wanted to stop all war and that’s what containment was. He thought of the foreign policy Brinkmanship, he described it as countries going to war without really going to war. So it’s like a threat that they will go to war but won’t. It was his way of fighting and would only go war if he really needed to(Ayers 849). Economic Aid is again helping to not become communist, so he wanted to strengthen all countries, so we all can get along and not go to war unless needed. He was trying to ignore the thought of war at all times. By strengthening countries, it gives all a reason to not start a war because no one will be stronger
