The Portrayal Of Jesus In The Book Of Luke

I do believe that Luke wishes to emphasize the compassion and humanity to portray Jesus, who willingly forgives the sinners, comforts the downtrodden, and heals the sick and afflicted. I view Jesus in the book of Luke as taking a personal interest in the community, one who cares about the people and their concerns. Also in the book of Luke, Jesus is a very powerful figure and a great miracle worker. In Luke, Jesus focus is on social and economic justice. His kingdom is in need of a radical change in religious and social values. I do not think the portrayal should affect any action or priorities of those who followed Christ. Christ followers were loyal and believed in his purpose because they saw how powerful he was. Women were some of Jesus’s
biggest followers and played a prominent role in Jesus’s divine plan, and Luke made this apparent (Harris, 2015). Jesus had his disciple’s, and many male followers, but he also accepted several female disciples. Women not only followed Jesus on the path to Jerusalem, but they provided financial support for Jesus and his male companions.
