For example Candy states, “S’pose I went with you guys. Tha’s three hundred an’ fifty buck I’d put in (Steinbeck 59).” Candy wants to be in George and Lennie’s dream so he offers them money to help pay. Another example is, “George half – closed his eyes. ‘I gotta think about that. We was always gonna do it by themselves (Steinbeck 59).” This is George responding to Candy when he wanted to be in their dream. Another example is, “They fell into a silence. They looked at each other amazed. This thing they had never really believed in was coming true (Steinbeck 60).” This was after Candy offered to be in their dream when they started to discuss how this could work.
