The answer is simple and unfortunate, their odds of succeeding in life are more difficult to reach which will continue the cycle of poverty, illness and the crimes that are related. In order to truly make the American education system equal the schools with a lower graduation rates would be required to reach outside their means of teaching the children and first teach the parents how to parents and raise successful young adults. In many cases schools simply cannot reach the homes and are set to fail.

I made sure that my son sat for both the math and english testing this year, and guess what? He survived the testing, did not stress himself into crying fits and according to the resent test results that I received in the mail, he passed!
Here in Camden there was a big uproar against common core which pushed me to do some research about the pro's and con's on the new set of standards. After watching several debates, nightly going over my son's homework with him to make sure he understood and his comment the day before the testing “Mom, Shea said that if you wrote me a letter that I wouldn't have to take the tests like his mom did.” I knew that making him follow through on what the teacher had been teaching all year was the right decision.
So, as it sits is education given as an equal opportunity to this countries children? No. With education reform, hard work and parental oversight is equal education opportunities possible?
