After the horrific attack on the Twin Towers on September 11th the government of the United States of America found the need to take measures that would protect the lives of the people of America. Hence in relation to these attacks the then President Bush set an act in motion that would prevent further terrorist attacks. This act came to be known as the U.S.A Patriot Act. This act aimed by giving all the enforcement agencies tools so that they could combat terrorism. It has become one of the most imperative weapons that the state has against terrorism. It also violates the first amendment act. And it has been pretty useless, as it has not put in any extra efforts that were needed to combat terrorism. Argument is that the patriot act can delay the issuing of warrants for search and the numerous law enforcement agencies also slow down while issuing notices for a search.
The act also violates the activities of freedom by using a sneak and peak method where these agencies are allowed to look into public records without the need for a search warrant or any prior notification. This right of searching through public information has given the government to have all access to finances, health and educational records of the citizens and these activities are certainly against the freedom act that is provided to the citizens as per the constitution
