The Red Wheelbarrow Essay

“The Red Wheelbarrow” which published in 1923, is my favorite poem in this chapter. The author of this poem is William Carols Williams. To be honest, one of the reasons that I like this poem is that it is a very short poem, only eight lines. Even though it has only eight lines, it is not easy to figure out all of the meaning of the poem. The poet contained his feeling in only eight lines. Understanding poems are harder than understanding stories because writers can tell or explain their thought in their stories but it is hard to explain and expand their feeling in poems. I think The Red Wheelbarrow shows me how the wheelbarrow helps people to work in daily life, how the environment affects people’s feeling, how people ignore the importance of simple objects.
First of all, I know that the Red Wheelbarrow helps people to work in daily life. The first two lines of this poem say: “so much depends upon.” From these two lines, I could know that the wheelbarrow worked a lot for people. It may carry things in a farm. Simple machines, such as a wheelbarrow, could spread the effort and force to do the job. When you want to move something, the wheelbarrow would be an excellent tool to use.
At least, the emphasizing of colors affects my feeling of the environment. The red color is a bright color which could catch people’s eyes. I believe that the poet William Carlos Williams was attracted by the colorful red wheelbarrow, and wrote this poem. The rain usually brings me some feelings about sad. But in this poem, the red wheelbarrow “glazed with rain water”. The word “glazed” brings more positive feeling of rain. I am no longer feel that rain is sad. Also, there is a contrast between red and white. The bright red and typically white, the stopping wheelbarrow and moving chicken make the whole environment vivid and
