Given North Korea’s ideology on communism and Americans on capitalism, Americans are helping South Korea. American general Douglas MacArthur counterattacks North Korea all the way to the Yalu River as a way to show North Koreans the power that a capitalist country has. America saw this as an opportunity to convince South Korea to join their efforts because America was helping them fight back against North Korea. Furthermore, Senator Robert F. Taft explains, “with every available resource the American men in our armed forces who have been moved into Korea” (Capital Report, Senator Robert F. Taft). The quote goes into detail about how the United States Senate agreed to help South Korea by sending their troops to South Korea and helping provide them with every food and resource that was available.
