In the world today the majority of people have such a cold, mechanical response to the demise of friends, family members or significant others. Most of the time when someone dies you go to a memorial service, mourn ,forget and put aside the diseased. People act this way for the same reason a Christopher they don't understand the afterlife and don’t think it is logical. For the same reason Christopher was not distraught by the fact that he did not attend his mother’s funeral. Christopher’s logical mind is unbelieving of supernatural beings and occurrences and unconcerned with hypotheticals; this way that Christopher reacts reflects that of the world by not thinking twice about those who have passed away. This connection from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time exemplifies the the coldness of humanity much life the way Christopher is unaffected by many things.
