The Role Of Independent Reading In The Great Gatsby

Independent reading helps me to develop a wider range of thinking toward the society. From reading I am able to develop a set of answer to help support my question. In other words, reading are able to built a scenario in my mind to help support a difficult subject. Well there’s always a question that I don’t really have an answer to. Which is why repeating the past is a mistake. The book that help me to answer my question was The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. In chapter 6 Gatsby said “Can’t repeat the past?…Why of course you can!” This shows the desire of Gatsby of regaining the happiness that he once had. However, the book are able to use this topic as a support, and end the story with bold idea, which is the death of Gatsby. Although
F. Scott Fitzgerald extradite the idea of repeating the past, it helps me to understand how one’s desire may lead to chaos. With the understanding of a difficult subject, it proved how reading independently may widely affect the amount of thinking that human is done with their brain.
