When court came around, Mary told the truth. She was nervous about confessing because Abigail was going to be there. When she admitted that she had lied about the the witchcraft but, the court did not believe her. She changed because before court she was obeying all of Abigail's commands and told lies. Then all the other girls come in and come up with nonsense saying that Mary is a bird on the ceiling. At this point, when mary tried to speak they would repeat what she says and it would make the court think that she has possessed them and that she was a witch. …show more content…
She then tells the court that John forced her to tell these lies. Mary also apologizes to Abigail and tells everyone she is with the Lord now. But really if she was, she would have told the truth not matter what circumstances took place. So you can tell the she is turning into a different person because she is scared and wants to ease her way out of the hole she is in.
In this novel, Mary Warren is a coward and has no faith in the Lord. She could have been the one who saved many innocent people from being accused but she was too scared of Abigail to do anything about it.. She changed throughout the story by being a follower and doing what she had too, to being a coward and trying to find the easy way out of
