Rome's religion, Christianity, was, and is, very important. Christianity was adopted by many emperors during the Roman era. Because of this, "After the fall of the western Roman Empire, Christianity continued to attract new believers," according to textbook page 61, paragraph three. Since the Roman emperors followed the Christian religion, it became popular in new empires, and became the basis for a new culture. Secondly, Christianity began many wars and events that have influenced different cultures. Christianity began wars, such as the Crusades, that resulted in a mix of different cultures. Additionally, it began the Protestant Reformation, which influenced much of Europe's structure. Spreading Christianity was also a driving factor in the exploration of the Americas. The Roman government introduced many ideas that our government still uses today.
