The Salvation Army: A Short Story
The duration of the home visit with these church members was 20 minutes. When we got there, five family members were sitting in the living room. They greeted us in a positive manner, and I was introduced as Cadet Ingrid Moreno from the training college of the Salvation Army. Pastor inquires if everyone was ok, “they all reply, yes. “ Then he said before, we speak to our father," is there anything specific anyone would like to share or pray about. They all answered no, with a smile on their faces. I was feeling a little uncomfortable. My presence may have stopped them from conversing with the pastor. Pastor turn and said to me, “Cadets pray a blessing for this family that God will keep them in good health.” I prayed with confidence in my heart
and with fulfillment. At the end of the prayer, Pastor questioned the family again, is there any concerns this family would like us to pray about. They all answered no, than Pastor had all of us held hands in a circle prayed and closed out the visit.
