I can relate to this because my eldest brother has just recently opened up to my family and told them that he is in fact homosexual and is getting engaged. He had been hiding this secret from some of the closest people in our lives for almost twenty-four years. My family is very strict and conservative, especially my grandparents. He did not know how they were going to react to the news, so he chose to wait until he found the person he wanted to settle down and marry. Once it was time and he told them, it was very hard for my grandparents to adjust.
