1.What is Pixar?
Pixar Animation Studios, or simply Pixar, is an American computer animation film studio based in Emeryville, California. Pixar began in 1979 as the Graphics Group,a part of the computer division of Lucasfilm, which was used to create animations and other graphical display qualities, though it never sold very well and almost destroyed Pixar due to low sales, as the company started to fail, it was bought by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 1986. He kept investing more and more money into the company which inturn gave him more control over the company but also kept Pixar alive. Then Pixar was bought by The Walt Disney Company in 2006 at a valuation of $7.4 billion.
There are 3 people who play very important parts at Pixar. This is Edwin CatMull who was a key of creator of “Renderman” which is still use to creat all Pixar creation. The next one is Steve Jobs. He created Pixar and as the major shareholder and as CEO, this was until Pixar was purchased by Disney but it still made him the largest individual shareholder at Disney. Finally,this is John Lasseter. As a animator, director and writer, he now oversees all Pixar’s projects.

The studio has also produced several short films.
