Toy Story talks about a roomful of toys springing to life whenever there are no humans around. From Mr. Potato Head to Bo Peep, the movie springs to life with characters that have never been seen before. Someone said “It felt like...you could reach into the screen and take the toy off and play with it,” (“Pixar” 1). There was one toy that stood out above the rest, Sheriff Woody, who was played by Tom Hanks. Andy, the boy who owns Woody, considers Woody to be his favorite toy, however Woody’s life is turned upside-down when a new toy rolls into town, Buzz Lightyear, played by Tim Allen. Woody’s popularity is decreasing by the moment when Buzz arrives. Hoping to take Buzz out of the equation, Woody plans to take Buzz out, but through sheer hatred for each other, Woody and Buzz are trapped in the house of Andy’s neighbor, Sid. Sid is an evil boy who likes to torture toys for fun. Woody and Buzz soon put aside their differences in order to escape and get back to Andy, who is moving away to a new house. This movie brings Woody and Buzz back onto the big screen after Woody is kidnapped after falsely winding up in a yard sale Andy’s mom is having. Looking to save Woody from his kidnapper Al, a toy store owner looking to sell Woody for profit, Buzz Lightyear plans a rescue mission with the other toys, but in a shocking turn of events, Woody wants to stay. While Woody was with Al, he found himself surrounded by other cowboy-based toys, saying how Woody was with them on a kid’s television show in the past. Buzz reminds Woody about Andy, and how Woody is his toy. Woody eventually joins back with Buzz and the rest of Andy’s toys.
