Mcmurphy breaking the picture window was a turning point in the story. The picture window was a prized possession of Nurse Ratched. It was the difference between her and the patients. She was on one side of the window while the patients were on the more unfortunate side. In a therapy session, R.P breaks the window, in the movie and in the novel, to get cigarettes. The glass breaking wasn't only a turning point in the story, but also for Mcmurphy. McMurphy became a larger than life character to the patients.…
Consider the role of television in the film; and how it used in society. What role does it play in this culture of the film and why is it preferred to reading? Usually, the parlor walls contain large wall-sized television screens. They put a screen that is as large as the wall in a particular room, and if they can get all four walls of a room covered in television screens, then you have a total and complete interactive and entertainment package. At the beginning of the movie, Mildred and Montag have three T.V. walls in their "parlor" or living room, and Mildred is hinting around to Montag that she wants yet another one. However, the cost for a T.V. wall that is exorbitant it is nearly a third of Montag's yearly salary, which makes it so expensive; so it is a hard decision to make for him and his wife.…

In the movie Unbroken directed by Angelina Jolie, there are many obvious differences from the actual factual events that took place. A lot of important details about Louis Zamperini’s life were left out in the movie. There are many reasons for this, which are arguably very important. The three biggest things that were left out of the movie are, the realization that Louis came to about his faith in God, Japanese guards actually treated Louis very well when he first was captured, and Louis actually came face to face with Adolf Hitler. All three of these things were left out of the movie for specific reasons, which Hollywood thought would boost ratings and amount of viewers.…
One of the most powerful movie elements to how the audience perceives a scene of the film is often looked over. Close to all pivotal movie scenes contain the little background music, also known as underscore. This powerful audio element effects the way audiences feel and react to a scene. The underscore that is present in The Book Thief greatly impacted the tone, mood, and suspense of certain scenes. Three of these scenes that were greatly impacted by underscore were when the Nazi party came to check basements for air raid shelters, when Liesel writes her life story in the basement, and when Liesel walks up Himmel Street after the bomb hits.…

A seminal moment in the film “The Matrix” is where Neo chooses the red pill from Morpheous to see how deep the rabbit hole goals (rather than the other option of just returning to the matrix). Upon teaching Neo that his life had been part of the matrix, Morpheous said to him “Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?” The world around you could be something completely different from what you are currently perceiving it to be. This is known as a skeptical hypothesis and occurs when you are radically deceived about the world and yet your experience of the world…
The Bulldog of Bergen Cinderella Man, a film made in 2005 starting Russell Crowe and directed by Ron Howard, conveys an important life lesson, an incredibly accurate representation of the outstanding comeback of one man, all while being a story others are able to relate with. It is clear to see that Crowe put a lot of emotion and time into creating this story for viewers, which makes the movie easy to compare with the book My Antonia written by Willa Cather. The movie, based on a boxer named James J. Braddock’s real life story, was tremendously well put together and highly emotional. The film begins in the Roaring Twenties with Braddock winning a match at Madison Square Garden. James and his family are seen in a big fancy house, with jewelry galore and happiness…

The Shining is written as a narrative and was developed into a film in 1980.…
