1. Tretinoin has been called the anti-aging cream. Since it is applied topically, how does it affect the skin?
This medication is used to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, reducing roughness, and improving skin color. Tretinoin belongs to a class of medications called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of skin cells. In a sense it tightens the skin; maintaining the skin's firmness, and adds a "plumping" effect.
2. Explain the relationship between the functions of epithelial tissue and the control of permeability.
Epithelial Tissue- lines the cavities and surfaces of structures throughout the body and forms many glands.
The control of permeability provides a framework and sensation.
Epithelial tissue has the functions of covering the outside surfaces of the body and lines intestinal organs. As well as it helps to secrete hormones and other products.
Substances that enter or exit the body usually have to travel across an epithelial barrier. Epithelial tissues may be permeable or selectively permeable which only lets specific substances to pass through. Without the permeability of the epithelial tissue our body would have to find another way for products to be let through so our body can absorb them correctly has well as keeping the harmful products from coming in with certain organs.

3. How might a cancerous conditioin in the body be related to the development of a severe reduction in bone mass and excessive bone frgility? Common in Multiple Myeloma, a plasma cell malignancy.
Multiple Myeloma is a hematologic malignancy associaated with clonal expansion of malignant plasma cells within bone marrow and the development of a destructive osteolytic bone disease.
