This medication is used to improve the appearance of the skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, reducing roughness, and improving skin color. Tretinoin belongs to a class of medications called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of skin cells. In a sense it tightens the skin; maintaining the skin's firmness, and adds a "plumping" effect.

Without the permeability of the epithelial tissue our body would have to find another way for products to be let through so our body can absorb them correctly has well as keeping the harmful products from coming in with certain organs.
