The Socialization of a Homeschooler

The Socialization of a Homeschooler Growing up most children socialize with other children at school, church and extracurriculars. For me I didn’t go to school and with church my dad went to a Bahi center which is like a church. Because I didn’t have the structure of school and religion I socialized through my homeschooling support group and my extracurriculars. Because my family is non traditional my parents managed to keep a stable household. My education from preschool through highschool was structured where I was given the text books which I would go through by myself and get help from one of my parents when needed. Some of my beliefs I know would come from my families influence, but also with the influences from my teachers and friends from my childhood to my college education today. Media influence of dance and music would have a big affect my life because they taught me not only discipline, but also how to appreciate the performing arts. With who I am today, I would have never imagined in a million years that I would be the person that I am today from growing up in a different environment of the average child. The access to community resources especially with me being a homeschooler were used to my advantage. When getting involved with the community I would tutor fellow students in English and ballet. One theorist that I found is fascinating is Abraham Maslow and his theory of the “Manslow theory of the Hierarchy of Needs.” Because I was raised differently from most children I know that it has made me a unique individual who is like any other person in the world that we live in. In my family I am the oldest of six children. My family would be considered Nuclear. All of my sibs and I share the same parents and are one big happy family. My relationship with my family would be considered healthy. In my family is joyful and opened to different ideas that can or not be abstract. When it comes to classifying my family we would be considered a middle class
