The Sperm and the egg

The sperm and the egg is truly a journey, the first location that the egg goes into is the infundibulum. The infundibulum is in the female and is located in the fallopian tube. The correct name is the egg and there are other eggs that are also created. This is the home and the ending target for the sperm, the process can be long but definitely a great process. The sperm is part of a male cell, the egg and the sperm in the end both meet and then after that magic will happen. The eggs main purpose is to be able to meet the sperm and fertilize. Getting through the whole process might seem easy but it’s really not. The location that the egg lays in is the woman’s ovary. The woman ovary doesn’t just have 1 egg, it actually has around 400,000eggs, the woman goes through puberty and after puberty only about 400 eggs survive. The remaining 400 eggs are to become ripened ova. Now that the eggs are in the ova, the ova who suppresses the growth of more ova and is released during the ovulation. When the egg passes through its childhood home which is the ovary, it finally makes it to its final location which is called the fallopian tube. In the fallopian tube is where the egg waits for the sperm to arrive. The process when going through and down the road to the fallopian tube takes some time, that is why the ovulation takes place within two weeks before menstruation to take place. The tube is about 4 inches long; in order to be able to meet the sperm the egg has to travel through a variety of different tubes. The egg goes through a small group which is known as the cilia. The cilia have tiny hair like projections that guide the egg through its path. With the assistance of the Cilia the egg is able to travel about an inch a day which doesn’t seem like far but for an egg it is.
The egg is now in the fallopian tube for about a day or a little over depending on the travel, and is
