The three poisons are greed, anger, and ignorance (Grubin). One of the goals of Buddhism and accepting oneself is converting the three poisons into their opposites, greed would become generosity, anger would become compassion, and lastly, ignorance would be converted into wisdom (Grubin). In my experiences converting the three poisons to their opposites would make a positive impact on someone's life.
