As Coben put in his article, “ .. I was repelled at the invasion of privacy” ( Coben 1). A story I have heard from experiences based on this topic is that my friend found out her parents were spying on her because they would bring up things that she hadn’t told them. They thought that she had a boyfriend. She confronted them and lost trust in them.
Some people may say that spying on your kids is necessary because they can get in trouble. However, spying on your children can endanger the
trust and bond between child and parent. Instead of spying, parents should build trust by spending time with their kids, like taking them out and spending quality time with them.
Due the information and examples I have provided above, I have shown parents many reasons that spying on your children is an invasion of privacy and trust. These are just a few examples why spying on your children is a violation of privacy.
