Education is the single most important thing if you want to do good and succeed in life. Higher education gives a future and gives opportunity for those students that attend college and gives them a chance at a career that they are interested in. Now, it seems that in every common household their is at least one family member who attends college. But with the drop out rate going up students seem less interested in learning at college and their priorities change from their original goal of graduating.
College is misunderstood by many incoming freshman, they think its going to be as easy as high school was but it is sort of different because its more of your responsibility for everything. All of the television advertisements and billboards encouraging students to attend college make it seem so easy but its actually sort of difficult because of the tuition and the sorting classes out and homework and just little things like that. Parents encourage their kids to attend college after graduating high school because they want to see their kids have a shot at success and be better than they were when they were at their age. However college is not for everyone. More freshman are dropping out after their first year because college can be overwhelming through everything that takes place within the campus. The pressures of college whether it’s to impress parents or maintain a high GPA gets a hold of many students while they are in college. Many people attend college just to party as much as possible or to be with their friends and hang out. College can be misleading for teenagers fresh out of high school, and people who feel that continuing their education isn’t the most important thing in attending college.
Once a student enrolls in college, dropping out is the worst decision they can make. The cost of dropping can be bad to a student’s financial. Dropping out also means they are dropping tuition, and students are often left with debt to pay off
