Whoever one inherited the money from Sam Westing. When all of the 16 heirs had gotten their clues they started to get suspicious of one another. Their clues were not just any clues they were very difficult ones for example, “SEA MOUNTAIN AM O,” (Page 42) these were Turtle Wexler’s and Flora Baumbach’s clues. During the story everybody gets to know each other very well. And also during story four bombs occur. These four bombs were from Angela Wexler. Her sister Turtle had took the blame for her. They all have figured out their clues. When all of them are called back to the Westing house they have to say the answer. When they got there everybody said their answer and they were all wrong. They worked together to get the real answer and it was Berthe Erica Crow. She was Sam’s wife. Turtle Wexler had made a trial. She asked all the heirs questions about their stay in Sunset Towers. It all turned out that Sam Westing was alive and was actually named Windy Windkloppel. He was disguised in three different people Sam Westing, Sandy McSouthers, Julian R. Eastman, and Barney Northrup. He was disguised in these because that’s the way the wind always points either North, South, East, and West. Turtle had one the game and got all of the inheritance. In this book we learn that Windy Windkloppel has four different identities, which he has hidden. The first main Identity was Sam Westing. This Identity was important because he was the one who had created the game. Without Sam Westing there would be no Westing game. The second Identity was Barney Northrup. This identity was important because he was the one who had shown the apartments to the families. In the begging of the book he kept on saying the same line over and over again to get them to rent the apartment. “You’re really in luck,” Barney Northrup said for the sixth and last time. “There’s only one apartment left, but you’ll love it. It was meant for you.” (Page 4) He had known all along that they would definitely trust him. The third identity was Sandy McSouthers. This identity was important because he was one of the heirs. Sandy really got along with turtle and I kind of think that he was purposely hanging out with her so she could win. The last and final identity was Julian R. Eastman. He was important because he was the last identity of Windy Windkloppel. At the end of the book, he and Turtle are talking and he dies on the Fourth of July. “Julian R. Eastman was dead; and with him died Windy Windkloppel, Samuel W. Westing, Barney Northrup, and Sandy McSouthers. And with him died a little bit of Turtle.” (Page 182) Windy Windkloppel had all these disguises because he wanted them to represent the way the wind pointed in the different directions. North, South, West, and East. The Heir that I had trusted the most would probably be Judge Ford.
I trusted her because she was really into looking who the murderer was. She was investigating a lot more and seemed pretty honest. She also lived in the Westing house and Sam Westing had paid for her education to become a nurse and she would definitely not want to repay him with killing him. Also she is a judge and would know the consequences you would have to pay. The person who was most suspicious in my opinion was James Shin Hoo. He was suspicious because he had some dirty issues with him and seemed like he really had hated him. When he sued Sam Westing he would have thought that Sam Westing would want to kill him and before Sam Westing did he killed him.
The Westing Game was not one of my favorite books because mystery is not really my favorite genre. The reason I don’t like mysteries is because they are too confusing for me. They don’t tell you about the characters too much. The Westing Game was still an okay book and I actually would recommend it to my friends because their taste in books might be different than my taste in books. Overall if I would rate this book I give it a 3 out of
